π How to Protect Your HomeLock all doors and windows every time you leave the house β even for short periods.Double-lock UPVC doors by lifting the handle fully and turning the key.Keep keys out of sight, away from doors and letterboxes.Install security lighting and consider a visible alarm system or CCTV.Use timer switches on lights to give the impression someone is home.
π Reduce Opportunities for OffendersAvoid leaving valuables on display, especially near windows.Register property on Immobilise (www.immobilise.com) to help recover stolen items.Secure sheds and garages with strong locks and avoid storing tools openly.Mark your property using UV pens or forensic marking kits.
π‘ When Youβre AwayAsk a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.Cancel or redirect post/deliveries to prevent build-up.Do not advertise holidays or absences on social media in real time.
